DISTRIBUTION DISPARITIES

Latinas DO NOT have a column or voice throughout the whole Annenburg report. Though we are the highest ethnic minority in the US, we are not seen.

Need for Parity

Minorities constitute 40% of the population, yet 87.4% of directing jobs go to Whites. 


There's 51% females in the US population, yet 87.4% of directing jobs go to males.

San Diego State University released their annual report that tracks women's representation in television.

NO CHANGE

In 2017-18, Females accounted for 40% of major characters on broadcast, network, cable, and streaming programs. This represents a 2% Decline from 42% in 2016-17. 


In Television, there was only 3% of Female DPs hired in 2017-18. This represents no change from 2016-17. 


Overall, 97% of the programs considered had NO Female DPs, 86% had NO Female Directors, 76% had NO Female editors, 75% had NO Female Creators, 74% had NO Female Writers, 25% had NO Female Producers, and 22% had NO Female Executive Producers.
