Out of 1,300 films, THREE LATINA DIRECTORS were hired.
Out of 1,518 projects in television, TWELVE FEMALE DIRECTORS were hired.
Out of 1,518 projects in television, SIX FEMALE COMPOSERS were hired.
CINEMATOGRAPHERS were not mentioned once in the 42 page report.
Out of 1300 films made, 11 WOC directed a film last year. Which means, not even 1%.
In 13 years, only 13 WOC directors have worked with distributors.
ZERO WOC directors have been hired by Lionsgate, STX, etc.
Report is of all female directors, not just WOC.
January 2019, Annenburg Foundation and USC Annenburg released their annual report of gender, race, and age of Directors across 1,200 top films in 2017-2018.
From 2016-2018, out of the top 300 films, ZERO WOC DP's were hired.
Latinas DO NOT have a column or voice throughout the whole Annenburg report. Though we are the highest ethnic minority in the US, we are not seen.
The UCLA annual report shows the numbers remain a long way from proportionately reflecting the U.S. population.
Minorities constitute 40% of the population, yet 87.4% of directing jobs go to Whites.
There's 51% females in the US population, yet 87.4% of directing jobs go to males.
